The length of this journey is sinking in, round by round.
‘Choice’ is stretching and folding it’s limbs constantly to fit into different spaces and paces. There is always choice but perhaps the trick is not think you know what you have choice of. It’s a bit like looking at a menu for ages and having decided on your meal and then being told that that menu is not available today. Ha! So either you stay fixed on the the idea that your choice has been completely removed and that’s that, or you adapt that idea to say well I still have choice, it’s just off another menu altogether. Easier said than done when it comes to it.
In this recording we’re reflecting still on how much we needed to believe that Round 4 may have been the final one and what space that gave us. And beautifully, word by word, we are stretching and folding into the fact that there are two more rounds ahead after all. And we peak beyond the borders of chemo too and try and feel the temperature of those waters.
Gentleness and patience with ourselves and each other is very present and a gift of no measurable value.
