As if we needed any proof that this was a ride we didn't get to control a week before C has her surgery I have suspected measles and we had to spend the time apart. Over the phone we talk about the ways in which our bodies express themselves, being connected when we're disconnected, and how it feels when we're not able to be there for each other... all as the reality of next week's surgery makes itself felt.
